Xan Black is a 24 year old key art designer, creative director, and filmmaker based in New York, with experience in working with directors, distributors, and agencies. Their work primarily focuses on key art design, but they also have experience with working on 2D GFX, logo design, 3D modeling, and editorial design.
One of their most notable projects includes their poster for Kino Lorber’s Neptune Frost, a sci-fi punk musical written and directed by Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman, which MUBI Notebook named One of the Best Movie Posters of 2022. Their work on Neptune Frost has also led them to become the youngest artist to be displayed at the Berlin State Museum’s exhibition titled, The Big Screen: Film Posters of All Time.
They’ve also worked on graphic design and titling for Tayarisha Poe’s sophomore feature, The Young Wife, which premiered as part of the Visions section at SXSW.
